Warts: They can be very challenging to resolve. For those aggressive warts, the laser is a very nice option. Your treatment can be tailored to your needs and circumstances. That will be a decision between you and Dr. Steed as to how you wish to treat those unfortunate warts. Because the wart tissue needs to be destroyed, there is often pain associated with laser treatment, however, that can be resolved by injecting local aneshesia around the wart making it a pain free treatment. The injection is then the challenge for some to overcome, but greatly improves the tolerance...highly recommended.
Other options include freezing and in our experience the use of Cantharone or what is nicked name "beetle juice" as it comes from the blister beetle. Cantharone has to be done just right and the treatment consistent to be most effective. There are a number of other things that can be attempted, but we find one of these three options to be quite effective. Conservative treatment like the two mentioned above do not require local anesthesia, but usually require multiple treatments. Your treatment will be customized to you as you come to understand your options, the risks, and effectiveness.
